Review of 2013

It's been a good year for CVW Web Design. We've tackled some great projects, learnt new skills, worked in some different locations, and been to a few fantastic web conferences. What's not to like?! Firstly, we have completed some great website projects, both web design and/or website builds, including Snoodydo, Aircraft Charter Aviation, and Kelgray. We've also recoded our own site (in technical terms) and given it a tighter focus on core activities as well as revamping our logo (below) via the talented Liz Elcoate.

Another enjoyable project was a redesign of the Classic Bags website to reflect a new logo and more colourful branding.

Over the year, there has been more and more work with website content management systems like Perch and WordPress. That's something that will continue and both systems are great at making sure that you can edit and manage your website as easily as possible.

We've been using and testing a lot of new web design and development software this year. For many years, we've used Adobe software - and we still use it a lot today. However, there are more and more small software companies developing software with specific features. It's been great to bring these into our workflow!

The year has also been a good one for web conferences which are an essential part of a web designer and developer's activities these days. They are very important because they enable you to meet and chat with other web designers/developers and keep up with the rapidly moving world of the web. So, for example, we've been to Port 80, Shropgeek (R)Evolution, 12Devs of Autumn and WordCamp London (yes, they have unusual names). They've all been great!

Also this year, CVW Web Design worked for another local company at their office to help with their workload, continued the Horsham Coworking days, and worked at Worthing Coworking. Workspace variety is very important!

So, all in all, it's been a good year and we hope it has for you as well. We're looking forward to seeing what 2014 brings. Merry Christmas everyone!
